How to recognise it
Giant hogweed can reach three to five metres tall, with thick green stems marked with purple blotches and stiff white bristles, huge jagged leaves, and enormous flat clusters of small white flowers that look like a vast cow parsley. It is often found along riverbanks, footpaths and waste ground.
